Tia Means “Aunt” in Spanish…
And look at my little niece, born yesterday!
![]()
I’m in Alabama with her on my lap, feeling a little bittersweet that I have to drive away and when I see her next, she’ll be a big ole’ baby. But for now, she’s 6lbs of sweet perfection that blond hair just might have a tinge of red.
Notes on the birth:
- my sister is the strongest laborer I’ve ever seen
- pushing uphill is not productive; someone tell the hospitals just exactly where they can stick this little idea.
- it’s amazing human reproduction continues on
Read the whole birth story here. Tomorrow I’m cooking freezer meals and doing some nursery art. Saturday the kids and I head home.

Did I mention that my sister goes by “Tia” as an auntie too? She was a Spanish major at the time of our first child’s birth and we had two Aunt Erins in one family so we gave her the name of Tia Erin and it’s been reduced to Tia.
Love it.

Congratulations on becoming an aunt! She’s a beauty. I see a resemblance to her Mommy already.
