Little bits of miscellany….
- Rowan’s hearing test was perfect! As the doc said, “we know it’s all going in. Now go find out why it’s not coming out.”
- on the way home I passed a church sign that read, “Sin is a good way to approach people.” What does that mean?
- Two back to back snow/ice storms seem to be headed this way. If I’m not around, the power is out.
- Another dog was dumped on the corner today. The coloring of a beagle but with a boxier body. Looking forelornely at the road, poor animal. I’m going to try to get him here for a meal before the storm comes at least. People who dump animals are wretches. There’s a whole group of people that are a struggle to love!
- My oldest is almost 11. How did that happen?!?! He sure makes a good pot of chili.

Send the chili recipe so I can share with my 9 year old (almost to be 10). =)

Great news about Rowan’s hearing- did they do bloodwork as well? I suppose those kinds of tests take a while to run. He’s in our prayers.
Tyler’s almost 11 too- Feb. 21- when was Andrew’s- was it March 6th?

Yup Gina, that’s his birthday. Our boys are BIG!
Cathy: he usually uses a chili kit, with a can of red beans, a can of diced tomatoes, and a can of tomato paste. Served with cheese, crackers, and sour cream. He gets the spice just right. When I don’t have a kit, he makes a thinner version by adding cumin, chili powder, garlic and onion to the ground beef and for both versions we use chicken stock instead of water.
The biggest deal yesterday was that he CLEANED UP after cooking!!! It’s my goal to him him in charge of one meal, completely start to finish, at least twice a week by the end of this year.
