Vinegar. I know...I know...it smells like a pickle. But it is such a pure and simple thing that does so much. Having owned my own carpet cleaning business for several years I have discovered a lot of uses for it. [*]Mixed 1 to 4 is the best product in the world to clean your windows and mirrors with...especially if you use and sheet of newspaper. [*]In your laundry, it cuts soap film and leaves clothes 3 times cleaner. I also found that they last longer and do not stain as easily because they do not have a soap build up on them, which attracts dirt. [*]Removing pet urine odors and just about any stain from furniture or carpeting. It is my first order of defense. I use vinegar water first...then I might move on to something else...but most of the time I don't need to. [*]For watering azalea, hydrangias and rhodies...that all love acidic soil. It gives you those really pretty purple, blue and green blooms on hydrangias. [*]Making glass like fish bowls and vases that have water lines on them sparkle. [*]Run it through your coffee maker to clean it 1/4 strength. [*]Run a cup of it full strength through the dishwasher to get rid of stains. I have to do this after we have homemade spaghetti. I buy a gallon for about $1.50 and save hundreds every year on cleaning and laundry products. It is also enviromentally friendly. Downside, yes, our house smells like a salad..but only till it dries. They are never dry because my lid is so good about keeping the moisture in (I think this is why the roasts are always good too!).
