Fat and Happy?

I’ve been enjoying mapchick’s blog Random Nonsense and this morning’s blog is a humorous-yet-serious something to ponder…check it out.

    Ayup. Fair week was mid-August and we were there all six days what with showing cows and other assorted 4-H projects. Needless to say, just watching the masses partake of “fair food” is an excellent means of staying slim. Egads!

    Thanks for linking to me - I’m glad you liked it. Wasn’t sure my thoughts on the weekend would make sense to anyone but me.

    That weekend really set me thinking about the choices we make with our kids, and the example I’m setting. Not just about food. In my work and personal life goals, too.

    The amusement park was fun, as something different. There were many season pass holders there, and several talking in lines about being there every weekend. I’d prefer to play with my children where we make our own entertainment, and not let them think it ought to be spoon fed.

    I’ll take PB&J and Peter T. Dog by the river with the kids any day, and I’m hoping they’ll make the same choice when they have kids.
